Sophie’s Story
I’ve always been drawn to people’s stories — the things they carry, the places they’ve been, and the moments that quietly shape them. Becoming a therapist felt like a natural extension of that curiosity. It’s work that invites presence, care, and a deep respect for the human experience — all things I try to bring into the way I live, work, and create.
From Seattle roots to sun-drenched cities
I spent part of my childhood in the beautiful Pacific Northwest — Seattle, to be specific — surrounded by water, mountains, and moody skies. That early connection to nature and creativity planted the seeds for how I now move through the world: always in search of beauty, meaning, and a little bit of adventure.
That wanderlust has stayed with me. From studying abroad in the American South in my early twenties to travelling through Latin America before entering my thirties, I’ve always been drawn to places that expand my perspective. These experiences — full of colour, contrast, and quiet realisations — continue to shape how I live, create, and support others.
The therapist bit
I began my therapist journey nearly a decade ago near Savannah, Georgia, where I earned my master’s degree and first stepped into this work. Since then, I’ve supported people through anxiety, body image struggles, perfectionism, disordered eating, and low self-worth — in both private and public settings across the UK and internationally.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and deeply human. I work integratively — drawing from person-centred and relational foundations, while being influenced by Internal Family Systems (IFS), a model that invites us to explore our inner world with more nuance and compassion.
IFS offers a depathologising lens — helping us understand ourselves not as “broken,” but as made up of different parts, each trying in their own way to protect us or meet a need. Even without formal IFS certification, this perspective shapes the way I hold space: gently supporting clients in getting to know the inner critics, protectors, and vulnerable parts that show up — and helping them build a more compassionate relationship with their full selves.
Therapy with me isn’t about fixing you. It’s about creating space for all the messy, beautiful, in-between parts of who you are — and finding new ways forward, together.
And then, Soleada…
After years of working one-to-one, I realised that healing doesn’t just happen in a therapy room. It lives in the rituals we build in new cities. In the stories we carry. In the cultural moments that help us see ourselves more clearly.
Soleada Collective was born out of that realisation — a space where therapy meets travel, and emotional wellbeing is explored through storytelling, culture, and connection. Think: part creative studio, part life journal, part modern therapy space.
It’s where you’ll find nervous system tools alongside city guides. Reflections on burnout next to conversations on beauty culture or belonging. It’s therapy, expanded.
What’s next?
Inspired by Spain and Latin America, my dream is to one day host retreats that blend therapy, connection, culture, and care — all under the sun.
But for now, I’m here — offering therapy sessions, curating stories, and holding space for emotionally-attuned living.
Whether you’re looking for a therapist, a collaborator, or just somewhere to land for a while — I’m really glad you’re here.
