Meal Support

Meal and snack times can be distressing for those healing their relationship with food. Therefore, it is essential to be in a safe and supportive environment whilst working through difficult feelings and thoughts when eating.

I offer meal & snack support during lunch, dinner, and morning/afternoon snack. Meals last for up to 45 minutes, and snacks last for up to 30 minutes. These spaces are available via Zoom, like other services.

Meal support focuses on the behavioural side of an eating problem.

Another type of meal & snack support is ERP. This is an evidence-based approach, which aims to reduce distress around avoided foods, or foods that bring up feelings of anxiety, panic, guilt, or distress.

During therapy/therapeutic coaching sessions, we will work together to identify your these avoided foods. We will then create a plan of action for overcoming these slowly and safely.

If you’re interested in reading more about ERP for eating distress recovery, here’s an article by Eating Disorder Hope.
